Meet Your Host

Hi, I’m Lisa, guardian of this land and your host during your time at Passaddhi. I’m here to offer a warm welcome and help make your stay feel restful, natural, and truly yours.

Before creating this retreat space, I spent many years travelling, walking through the forests of South America, learning in the mountains of Asia, and listening deeply to other ways of living.

Along the way, I studied natural medicine, massage therapy, and the rhythms of the human body in harmony with the Earth.

A Journey Rooted in Nature

Passaddhi is a Pali word meaning calm, stillness, and inner peace, gentle qualities that have shaped my own path, and that I hope you’ll feel during your time here.

The Quiet Spirit Behind Passaddhi

More Than a Stay, A Philosophy of Slow Living

Passaddhi, it’s an invitation to pause, to land softly, and to feel at ease in your own skin.

If you leave feeling just a little lighter, a little more connected to yourself or to nature, then this place has done what it was meant to do.

As a trained naturopath and massage therapist, I offer one-on-one sessions for those who feel like taking a deeper pause and reconnecting with themselves. These treatments aren’t about fixing, they’re about gently supporting the body in what it already knows how to do.

Often, the most healing moments happen before or after the session: a pause with a cup of tea, the quiet after a treatment, or simply the feeling of being heard.

Gentle Support, When You Need It

I chose this peaceful valley in Aongatete, Bay of Plenty, for its natural stillness. No road noise, no neighbours, just birdsong, breeze, and forest.

Passaddhi was born from a wish to create a quiet space where people can take a deep breath, slow down, and reconnect with themselves.
There’s only one guest tent here, intentionally, so that every stay is spacious and personal.
